The Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception of Durango, declared a Minor Basilica by the Holy See, is the principal historical monument of the state of Durango and one of the most important baroque complexes in northern Mexico. Built between 1695 and 1788 during the colonial period of New Vizcaya, its three naves house 11 New Spanish altars, 24 quarry-stone pillars, three 18th-century baroque quarry-stone façades, and a collection of sacred art of exceptional value. It features a free virtual museum at catedraldedurango.mx with 3D tours and audio guides.
